the month in minutes – january 2012

Hello, hello! A little reminder, if you haven’t already linked up your blog goals, we’re keeping the party open until Thursday night for anyone getting a late start…we’d love to hear yours.  And you can find mine here. Now, I’m going to start a little something new here today. Can you believe this little blog had more page views in February than in its 3 previous months combined?  Serious!  That’s incredible to me. So, I shout out a Welcome! to everyone who is relatively new around here.  Thank you so much for coming by, please make yourself at home…and let me know you’re here.  :) And, to everyone who has been around from the beginning…don’t think I don’t know who you are…even if you’ve never left a comment.  I sure do appreciate you all sticking around…and would love to hear what you have to say about every single post things every now and then.  :) In light of all of our fun new traffic I thought it makes sense to do a little month in review, if you will.  But,…I’m going to start with January…total rule breaker here.  Seems like a nice, clean, appropriate place to start, don’t you think?  And, I’ll be sure to mix in a few new things too…just to keep it fresh for ya. So, I guess I should start by saying HAPPY New Year!  I’m sporting my party outfit and blowing my noise maker right now.  :)  But, the girls rang in the new year looking a little more like this.

Word of the Year and I Might Be Screwed (Just Once), A Gallery Wall Experiment Update

Did you all see that Layla, who blogs over at The Lettered Cottage, posted her idea to come up with a word of the year?  Her word is UP, click here to read all about it. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if it was my thing.  One word.  Just one.  For the whole year? I mean, it took Joel and I 10 years of living together before we got married.  And I’m supposed to pick one word for the entire year, just lickity split? But, then I got to thinkin’, and you know what happens when I get to thinkin’.  I get a headache I get ideas. And, as hopefully you all know by now, my friend Kari from Thistlewood Farm had the idea for the Imagine the Impossibilities Challenge, and, along with these other fab gals, I introduced this challenge last Monday. Click here to read about Linda’s Word of the Year. Stacey is going to sew a purse as her impossible challenge.  I will say it again, I didn’t even know people did that! Kelly is sorting and purging 16 years worth of “stuff”.  Any chance that’s going to take another 16 years? Andrea is organizing her craft room.  I am jealous of this for many reasons but most of all because I Heart Organizing and I don’t have a craft room. Kari, the non cook, is going to be making homemade bread.  I wish her luck with all of those finicky ingredients. Click on the underlined text above to skip over to their blogs and learn more.  We are all posting project updates at some point today, be sure to keep an eye on their progress! Can you imagine it?  Imagine those impossibilities?  Imagine what they are, imagine ways to conquer them, imagine how to Take.  Them.  Down!  In … Continue reading
