etsy who?

No, I haven’t been living under a rock.  On a rock, actually, in the middle of the sea.  ;) chillin’ at the dock of the bay … Seriously, I’ve heard of Etsy, but shamefully had never really poked around. Then I start a blog, and start to have blog friends, and these blog friends open Etsy shops and I think ‘prolly ’bout time I checked that etsy thing out’. And I kinda can’t stop looking around at all of the handmade craftiness. I have to admit that I love that my dear friends Kelly and Linda first made their soon-to-be-sold-in-their-Etsy-shop-homemade-wares as their Pass It On projects.  Pretty cool I say. And, as an aside, if anyone else I know is thinking of opening a shop of their own homemade goodness, I am happy to be a product guinea pig.  ;) First, Kelly from Eclectically Vintage made these totally awesome engraved vintage spoons, that are now available for sale. How awesome would these be in my Caribbean garden.  Chuckle.  ;)

the month in minutes – january 2012

Hello, hello! A little reminder, if you haven’t already linked up your blog goals, we’re keeping the party open until Thursday night for anyone getting a late start…we’d love to hear yours.  And you can find mine here. Now, I’m going to start a little something new here today. Can you believe this little blog had more page views in February than in its 3 previous months combined?  Serious!  That’s incredible to me. So, I shout out a Welcome! to everyone who is relatively new around here.  Thank you so much for coming by, please make yourself at home…and let me know you’re here.  :) And, to everyone who has been around from the beginning…don’t think I don’t know who you are…even if you’ve never left a comment.  I sure do appreciate you all sticking around…and would love to hear what you have to say about every single post things every now and then.  :) In light of all of our fun new traffic I thought it makes sense to do a little month in review, if you will.  But,…I’m going to start with January…total rule breaker here.  Seems like a nice, clean, appropriate place to start, don’t you think?  And, I’ll be sure to mix in a few new things too…just to keep it fresh for ya. So, I guess I should start by saying HAPPY New Year!  I’m sporting my party outfit and blowing my noise maker right now.  :)  But, the girls rang in the new year looking a little more like this.

I’m a Follower

Good morning, good morning! Man do I wish the Patriots had won yesterday.  :( Today, for a potentially slow moving Monday for all of us football fans…and those who just love the Sunday that is the Superbowl party…I have an easy little Valentine’s Day project. But first, for all of the bloggers…and anyone who likes to follow blogs and keep them all organized in one spot, a little word about the new Linky Follow tool that you’ll see top and right in the, well, top of my right sidebar.  :) I didn’t necessarily fully understand this when I jumped in the pool of blogs, but blogging is a game of numbers. Here I thought it was game of eloquent writing, well edited photos and thoughtful topics – whatever the focus of your blog.  Believe you me, it for sure is all of these things…plus the numbers. Before I had a blog I would read bloggers talking about different conferences they attended with seminar topics specifically about not measuring your success in numbers.  I didn’t really think too much about it pre-the space between. But now that I am IN the space between, literally, I get it. I started a blog because I thought it might be fun to keep a chronicle of all of the things we do in the spaces we find ourselves in.  When I think back to all of the homes we’ve had and upgrades we’ve made and projects we’ve learned how to do along the way, I’m down right bummed out that many of those things live only in memory. Memory can be so fleeting.  :/ And the response to this here blog, my friends, has been phenomenal.  I didn’t know I would get so excited when I got a new comment, or a new follower, or … Continue reading

Imagine the Impossibilities Link Party #1!

It’s here.  The big day is finally here!  Welcome to the Imagine the Impossibilities Link Party! First, if you haven’t entered to win the $50 Lowe’s gift card click here to get signed up. The giveaway is sponsored by OPC.  One Project Closer maintains a very up-to-date list of Home Improvement Coupons from most of the major home improvement stores that we all love so much.  Their site is updated daily by a real person (Kim, one of the editors at OPC).  So, after you hopefully win the gift card and before heading off to Lowe’s to get all of the supplies for your next project, you should stop by OPC for a Lowe’s Coupon and save upwards of 10%.  I recommend bookmarking the page for future reference! Boy, did this month fly by after we all decided to tackle our most daunting tasks, or what? Or, was that just my 10 day trip to Maine then 9 days of house guests, all the while trying to hang a whole gallery wall on one screw? Yesterday I, along with my fellow challenge hosts, posted my Impossible project reveal and today is all about YOU! Even if you haven’t completed your project, you switched projects midstream, or your project didn’t work out as planned it would be great to see you linked up.  We’d all love to learn from the journey. And speaking of love, don’t we all LOVE comments?  Well, I sure do, so it would be super cool if you took some time to give your fellow challengers some “Hoorahs” along the way. We’ve set up the party so you only have to link up ONCE and you will appear on the party page from each of the co-hosts blogs.  But then definitely click on my co-hosts buttons below to be sure to show them some love today on … Continue reading
