month in minutes {april 2012}

Is it me or was it just the beginning of the new year like yesterday?  And now it’s May.  Next thing you know we’ll be decorating for the holidays already. This coming from the girl who keeps her driftwood tree out all year.  :) So, to keep things in check, let’s take a look back at the month that was April 2012 to put everything we did in one handy spot and highlight a few new things just to keep it fresh.  Don’t forget that you can access each month in minutes by clicking on the stamp like buttons in the right sidebar for a quick recap of what we’ve done each month. I’ve gotta chuckle that we started April with the file cabinet makeover.  Which was supposed to be a file organization makeover. And, as of yesterday, I still have a desk covered in papers that need filing.  #justcallmeefficient

glass jar repurpose {upcycle}

Hey, hey … happy hump day. I have a fun, easy little jar up-cycle for you today.  I know, I know…It’s a Cinch was SOOO last week, but easy peasy, lemon breezy projects are addicting. The satisfaction of a completed project is so satisfying. This is coming from a girl who has been working on a door turned something-or-other project for what…like 2 years months?!?!  It’s coming along, really it is kind of. But my filing-cabinet-files-organization-project-turned-filing-cabinet-upgrade project has turned into a mini office organization project.  And I just so happened to have been washing out and holding onto empty glass jars without any real plan for use. Until I thought they’d make great little office item organizers.  I just didn’t like the look of the lid threading around the top, so I wrapped and hot glued some jute.

book page covered file cabinet

I know, I know … I’m supposed to be filing. But the minute I started checking out filing cabinets online I just couldn’t shift back to this pile. Seriously, the second I hit publish on this post, I pulled my ugly beast out of the corner and got to work. I took some pics of her dusty rusty, decrepit state.
